They had no choice in their engagement.

With a faint smile, Eileen held out her hand like she wanted a handshake.

“Let’s get along until the engagement ends. No point being enemies when we’ll keep seeing each other.”

“I don’t want to get along with you.”

Cedric would later deeply regret refusing to shake Eileen Cashier’s hand that day.

“You said we’d break off the engagement. So why do you keep getting involved in my life?”

“I’m worried about you. I’m not jealous of that girl—I’m worried you’ll ruin your whole family over her.”

“Cedric Lowell. How can you be so cruel?”

Only after hearing the pain in Eileen’s voice did Cedric realize he had made a big mistake.

Of all things, she had to be reborn as a background villain—a character obsessed with the male lead who loves the female lead.

It couldn’t be worse.
