Chapter -15
You’re Coming With Me to Apologize to Wen Ying Tomorrow
The walk-in closet on the second floor.
The servants soon brought up several huge black garbage bags and bowed apologetically toward Yu Zhi.
“I’m sorry, Miss Yu. We really don’t have the kind of woven sacks you asked for—would these large trash bags do?”
Yu Zhi quickly took the bags and bowed back repeatedly.
“Yes, yes, yes! Thank you so much!”
Pei Nian’an couldn’t help but laugh at the sight.
In front of the closet, Yu Zhi carefully opened each transparent cabinet door and began tidying up for the young miss.
Brand-new clothes still with tags were folded neatly to one side; only the wrinkled, worn-looking ones in the corner did she reluctantly stuff into the garbage bags.
An hour later, when Pei Nian’an came in with a yogurt in hand, Yu Zhi had barely filled one bag.
“Tsk,” Pei Nian’an frowned, “at this rate, you’ll be at it forever.”
She pressed the intercom button on the wall.
“I’ll call a few people up to help you.”
“Okay, sure.” Yu Zhi sighed. “Pei-jie, the thing is… all your clothes are designer pieces. I can’t bring myself to throw them out.”
Pei Nian’an rolled her eyes.
“I told you—don’t be polite. Take whatever you want.”
She pointed toward a dusty storage box in the corner.
“That box is full of last season’s bags. You can have them.”
Yu Zhi followed her finger, looked inside—and nearly choked on her own saliva.
Those weren’t last season’s bags—they were timeless luxury classics!
“These—these are really all for me?” Yu Zhi held up a crocodile-skin Birkin, her voice trembling.
Pei Nian’an stirred her yogurt lazily.
“Mm. They’re a year or two old. I got tired of them.”
Staring at the box of designer handbags, Yu Zhi felt her breathing grow shallow. She had to pinch the bridge of her nose to stop herself from fainting.
Pei Nian’an watched her expression, equal parts disgusted and amused.
“Look at you. No composure at all.”
She turned to leave.
“Take your time picking. I’m going to change. Oh, right—”
She suddenly turned back and tossed a small box to Yu Zhi, who nearly bit her tongue in fright as she was secretly kissing one of the handbags.
“Some admirer gave me this ages ago. It’s ugly as hell. You can have it if you like.”
Yu Zhi carefully opened the orange box—and nearly dropped to her knees.
Inside lay a Patek Philippe watch, its diamond-encrusted dial glittering under the light.
“This… this is what you call ugly as hell?” Yu Zhi held the watch, half-laughing, half-crying. “Pei-jie, I think you might have a serious misunderstanding about what ‘ugly’ means…”
She secretly pulled out her phone and looked up the price.
A second later—
“System! System!” she screamed inwardly.
Three hundred thousand! Even reselling it secondhand would fetch at least two hundred thousand!
Oh my god, she was rich!
This wasn’t a vicious supporting female character—this was a walking money fountain!
Yu Zhi blinked at Pei Nian’an.
She’d made up her mind: even without the system’s help, she was never letting go of Pei Nian’an’s golden thigh!
Before long, several servants arrived. Clearly used to this kind of thing, they efficiently packed up several full bags of clothes.
Just as Yu Zhi was mentally calculating how much she could get for all this at a luxury resale store, she suddenly heard a commotion downstairs.
Then came the faint voice of a servant:
“Young Master Gu, the young lady is upstairs. Please wait a moment.”
At that exact moment, Pei Nian’an stepped out of her bedroom.
Yu Zhi said,
“Pei-jie, I think I just heard someone downstairs say ‘Young Master Gu’—”
Before she could finish, Pei Nian’an’s eyes lit up and she dashed toward the stairs.
“Brother Chengnian is here?”
Halfway down, she stopped and turned back to Yu Zhi.
“Come with me.”
Yu Zhi, of course, didn’t refuse.
At the staircase landing, Pei Nian’an whispered excitedly:
“Do you think Brother Chengnian came to apologize to me? Should I forgive him?”
Yu Zhi sighed inwardly.
From her years of experience reading Mary Sue novels, Gu Chengnian probably did not come to apologize.
She thought for a moment and said carefully,
“Pei-jie, I think that no matter what Gu Chengnian says—”
Before she could finish, a tall figure appeared at the turn of the stairs.
Gu Chengnian, dressed in a white shirt with his sleeves rolled up, looked up at them coldly.
“Pei Nian’an. Come down. We need to talk.”
Hearing that tone, Yu Zhi immediately rolled her eyes.
But Pei Nian’an, as if receiving a royal summons, happily trotted downstairs.
Yu Zhi followed slowly, already planning how she might help Pei Nian’an get some payback.
Once in the living room, Pei Nian’an quickly directed the butler:
“Hurry, pour Brother Chengnian some water! Brother Chengnian, what do you want to eat? I’ll have them make it for you!”
“No need.” Gu Chengnian raised a hand to stop her.
“I have something to say. I’ll leave after that.”
Locking eyes with her, he went straight to the point:
“Why did you hit Wen Ying today?”
The air in the room instantly froze.
Pei Nian’an’s face changed. She forced down her anger and looked at him.
“Brother Chengnian, are you here to interrogate me?”
Seeing her show no hint of remorse, Gu Chengnian’s brows knitted tightly.
“Do you know you cut her forehead open?” His voice rose.
“Have you even thought—she’s also a girl! What if that leaves a scar?”
“I paid her!” Pei Nian’an pulled out her phone, righteously indignant.
“Afraid of a scar? Fine, I’ll transfer her money for medical treatment right now!”
“Money, money, money! Pei Nian’an, that’s all you ever think about!”
Gu Chengnian slammed his palm on the coffee table, making the teacups rattle.
“How did you become like this? Don’t you understand that not everything can be solved with money?”
Silence filled the room.
Gu Chengnian stood, his tone firm and cold.
“Tomorrow, you’re coming with me to apologize to Wen Ying.”
Pei Nian’an’s face flushed bright red with fury.
“Me? Apologize to her? Why should I?!”
Her voice sharpened.
“Brother Chengnian, get your facts straight! You were the one who said you’d sit with me in class—but you sat with her instead! Then after class she provoked me! If she got hurt, she deserved it!”
“Pei Nian’an!” Gu Chengnian’s brows furrowed so tightly a fly could be trapped between them.
“Stop making excuses! Wen Ying is so gentle—how could she possibly provoke you?”
Pei Nian’an’s mouth opened, but no words came out. Her eyes turned red.
Seeing her at a loss, Yu Zhi immediately stepped forward.
“Young Master Gu, there were reasons for what happened today. You can’t just put all the blame on Pei-jie.”
“Shut up.”
Gu Chengnian’s cold gaze swept over her before turning back to Pei Nian’an.
“Pei Nian’an, keep hanging around with lackeys like her, and they’ll destroy you sooner or later.”
